I am very impressed with my unimpressive prayer life! But at least I know I'm a prayer bozo! And I want to change. So one of the ways I have worked to improve my prayer life is by using Scripture to inform my petitions. Here's an example you can check out. I have two grown sons with whom I believe Jesus would be pleased. I used this verse-set to inform my prayers for them all through their teen years and I do not lack for evidence that God has answered these prayers! I think prayers informed by a verse set like this are way better than the "please-bless-Johnnie" generalities the Lord usually hears.
