Joel and Della are friends and ministry partners and they get it! They will tell you that sometimes God is answering our prayers precisely when He is giving us what we wouldn't choose for ourselves. Last year I visited Joel at his former place of employment. What a dedicated worker and great team leader! But a few months ago, his boss informed him that he was going to be let go. For most people, this would prompt anxiety and hand-wringing. But Joel and Della are definitely NOT "most people."
They (along with others of us) had been praying that God would lead him to a new position that was more family and ministry friendly. So when Joel's boss said "your path leads elsewhere" they heard God encouraging them, "It's time. I am about to answer your prayers." The video clip is Joel's story - and it's a great reminder that God answers prayer, even when His gifts come wrapped in some "bad news."
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
This is really neat, I love how God answers our prayers in his own way to work out for the better of everyone and everything! It never ceases to amaze me that with God there will ALWAYS be light at the end of the tunnel even when the path seems long and dark! Way to go Joel and Della for hanging in there! Three cheers to our God who knows whats in store for us and will always see us through to the end! All we have to do is ask, how simple is that! :)

I am thankful for what God is doing and will continue to do in their lives.
So many people make labor their life and in John 6:27 while Jesus was speaking to the Jews he talked about this. He said to not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures. Jesus isn't just saying that its food that is ruled out but that we must ONLY work for things that will last. That means we no longer should work for the return that we will get here on earth. Do I dare take this farther? I think that Joel and Della have. The principal that we must take away from this scripture to develop a biblical world view is as fallows. Do not work for a house, car, big screen TV, vacation, you fill in the blank. Jesus promises us in verse 35 of john 6 that if we seek him we will not hunger and by that belief we also will never thirst. This is talking about the spot in unbelievers that MISSING. To have complete joy and fulfillment we must give God EVERYTHING.
So what’s the point, I think Mathew 6:33 sums it up the best. Once we seek fist the things of God everything else will be added to us, and maybe if God sees fit the STUFF that I mentioned above.
